On Saturday, May 16, Jordyn Cook together with her friends and family participated in the Sixteenth Annual Massachusetts and Rhode Island Epilepsy Walk in Boston. Almost 800 people participated in the 2.5 mile walk and “Team Jordyn” had 34 members walking. “Team Jordyn” participated with yellow shirts with the Jordyn Cook Epilepsy Fund logo on the front and “I Walk for Jordyn” on the back. Of course the back of Jordyn’s shirt read “I Am Jordyn”. The Walk was capped off with a barbeque including a live band performance.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting Danielle Rocheford, author of the picture book Mommy, I Feel Funny! A Child’s Experience with Epilepsy. Danielle’s medical story is very similar to Jordyn’s with years of medications, EEG’s as well as brain surgery (You can learn more about Danielle and her book at Mommyifeelfunny.com. Copies will be available to purchase at the tournament as another means to help us reach our fundraising goals (cash or check only). We look forward to having Danielle participate in the Second Annual Jordyn Cook Epilepsy Fund Charity Golf Tournament on July 27, 2009.
